Subject: Using Share File System (VM/CMS)

We are looking at converting users to SFS directory instead of
    a 191 A (R/W) mini disk.
We are current running VM/ESA 2.1 and NOMAD 6.02.

We have experienced some problem with the following situation:
User processing large amounts of data - in the range of
         1,500,000 records
The user SFS directory is defined with limits up to 15,000 blocks.
(This was done so users would not need to request temporary
disk to process the query since standard user mini disk
are usually less then 1500 blocks)
The data is coming from a SQL database and that data transfer
works, but the NOMAD routine runs for hours without resolution,
and the SFS server machine is the top users in the VM system.

Doing a the same request using a 15,000 block mini temp disk
in the A mode completes within 1.5 to 2 hours - depending
         on the processing requested.

Has anyone experienced this problem? Is there an explanation for
why this is happening? Or is it just SFS?
