Subject: VM Storage Sizes for Shared DB server id's

We are in the process of migrating to VM/ESA from HPO.
I remember seeing somewhere a recommendation to increase the
storage sizes, especially for the shared DB server id's. Does anyone
who has gone through this experience have any advice on this subject?
The majority of all of our cms ids are set with a logon storage size
of 2M. Is it true that increasing the shared DB servers storage will
improve system performance or would we just be wasting resources
(given that the systems are running now on HPO).

Thanks.
