A little background. The University is considering purchasing Oracle's Govenrment Financials Package, Thus we will probably have Oracle as the database engine, running on a RISC,UNIX or PC based server. We are a VM shop with approx 150 applications. We have a wide range of applications, running from large(5M rows, extracts from IMS dbs) to small (2k) single user databases. My understanding of the situation is that we would move our current N2 databases to Oracle databases and convert all our current mainframe NOMAD code to NOMAD code for whichever platform we choose. What do I need to do to determine which of the 3 platforms to choose? What is involved in the code conversion process? What questions have I neglected to ask? What additional NOMAD products are required? I suspect the choice of platform is more related to ORACLE's requirements than NOMAD's . Thanks for any input.
