Pitzer" Subject: Accessing earlier e-mails Bill, Per your request: >> Subject: Accessing earlier e-mails >> Being a newer user, wondered if I could retrieve e-mails that were sent >> before I subscribed to the Nomad2 List. >> >> Is this possible? >> When you subscribed to the list server, you got a long note that told you lots of neat things. If you still have that note, you may want to re-read it (if not, send me your Internet address and I'll forward a copy to you). Here's the scoop on accessing earlier items: Send a 1 line note of "INDEX NOMAD2-L" to the LISTSERV userid (don't send it to the NOMAD2-L userid). This will give you a list of monthly archive log files. Once you get that list, you can "order" a file by a 1 line note of "GET NOMAD2-L LOGxxxx", where LOGxxxx is the log file you want. Note: no double quotes on the requests ... I put them in above to delimit the commands from the surrounding text. +-------------------------------------------+ | Darrell Pitzer | | Exxon Research & Development Laboratories | | Phone: (504) 359-1130 | | Fax : (504) 359-8037 | | 'Net : DARRELL.R.PITZER@EXXON.SPRINT.COM | +-------------------------------------------+ P.S. Are you the same Bill Ryan who used to teach NOMAD classes? I had a Bill Ryan as an instructor in the Advanced NOMAD2 Workshop way back in 1985 (the Jurassic NOMAD days). back to index
