Matt-- I'm happy to hear that you will be "starting" some discussions here! Here is a response for your questions about the Training Conference. Yes, there will be a training conference April 23-26 in San Diego, CA! In fact, there will be three--one for NOMAD, one for TeleUSE and one for Ada. I realize that we are late in getting the information out, but we needed to figure out a way to incorporate TeleUSE and Ada without lowering the value of the NOMAD conference to NOMAD users. The Ada and TeleUSE conferences will only be one and one-half days (Sunday night and Monday). All three conferences will "share" general session speakers on Sunday and Monday. Otherwise, NOMAD users will see no differences in the NOMAD Training Conference--three and one-half days, four tracks. Another factor that contributed to the "latest" of getting out our catalog is the early date of the Conference. It is six weeks earlier than last year's conference. In addition, based on what was going on in the hotel industry, we judged that it would be wise to negotitate later than we had in the past with hotels. This proved to be a good decision from the perspective of cost--we were able to negotiate rooms at the Hotel del Coronado for the very low rate (for this hotel) of $139/night, and other costs are low enough that we were able to keep the cost of the conference below $900. However, contracting with the hotel this late played havoc on our scheduling and gave us nearly impossible production deadlines. That's enough of the gory details--most folks just want to know what they are going to get and how to register. You should have received your Conference Catalog by now. If you have not, call June Nolan at 203-845-5150 and she will fax you one. Or call Tech Conferences at 1-800-95NOMAD for any and all the information you need about the Conference--catalog, travel, hotel, etc. And of course, you can always call me, Sandi, at 203-845-5205. Thanks for your patience. I look forward to seeing you at the Conference in San Diego! Sandi Forman Manager, Customer Marketing Thomson Software Products back to index
