Conference
To: NOMAD Users

We at MUST Software are pleased that our customers are
committed to our products and to our Training Conference.
We welcome your input and feedback to our ideas. The fact
that we listen to you is evidenced by several recent changes
that we have made to accommodate our users.

You said, "We have never had a conference in the midwest.
Why not have a conference in Chicago where there are so many
NOMAD users?" We changed course on a dime and had the Ninth
Annual NOMAD International Training Conference there.

You said "The economy is bad. Our companies won't let us
travel." We proposed a multi-site national conference for
1994. We flew representatives of all of the users groups to
Norwalk to share our plans. You wanted a single-site
conference. We changed plans, on a dime, to have a single-
site conference in 1994.

You said, "We are spending too much time out of the office."
We moved our conference program from Monday through Thursday
to Sunday through Wednesday.

We are happy to make changes that make our conference more
valuable and accessible to you. And we are listening, so
send me your thoughts. You can put them here or send them
to me personally at MUST Software, 101 Merritt 7, Norwalk,
CT 06856, fax: 203 845-5252.

But before you respond, let me clarify a few points:

The Training Conference this year, although rearranged
for the convenience of our users, is not any shorter than
last year's! Last year there were fifteen breakout sessions
and five general sessions. This year there are fifteen
breakout sessions and five general sessions. Same number of
hours. Same price. No increase in price for inflation or
to cover the free software. More for your money.

That brings me to another point-free software. We told
you that we would give you Front & Center 1.0 free at the
Conference. This is still true! Many months age we had
decided on a phased delivery of Front & Center, designed to
get the most-used functionality to you ASAP. As part of
that plan, Front & Center 1.0 was defined as the Report
Painter. A copy of this product will be given (free) to
every Conference attendee, as promised.

Recently, again in response to user requests, we
decided to release Professional Front & Center, a tool based
on the NOMAD language with GUI extensions that can be used
by professional programmers. Professional Front & Center
will be made available to Conference attendees at a steeply
discounted price--a price lower, in fact, than the already
discounted introductory price.

The final issue is multi-site versus a single-site
conference. It was made pretty clear to us at MUST Software
that our users, at least the ones who want to be heard,
would like us to continue providing a single-site national
conference. Our current plan is to continue to provide a
single-site conference. But because we are willing to
respond to your needs, we will listen to other ideas.

For you, our users, we will continue to remain flexible. We
do not think it is in your interest or ours to continue a
tradition for tradition's sake. Or stick to a path just
because we said we would if we all agree there is a better
path. What we want to do is to provide you with the most
value in a form that is appropriate for your needs. So let
me continue to hear from you and we will do our very best to
make the Conference the best value in training and
information.
